What to Expect

West U. Church of Christ

You can expect a loving family to welcome you and accept you for who you are. You can expect a service with a simple worship, simple message, and communion modeled after the teachings of the New Testament. You can expect to walk out with a feeling of belonging, purpose, and direction.

What are your service and Bible study times?

Where should I park?
We have parking in the front and back of the building, as well as on the sides of the building. We also have handicap accessible spots in the front of our building with handicap access ramps and accessible entrance.

What do I wear?
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable while you worship.

Where should I enter?
Most of our visitors enter through the auditorium doors that face Bissonnet. On  Wednesday nights, however, all enter at the rear of the building through the door labeled “Fellowship Hall” (on the back of the building there are also large letters that spell Fellowship with an arrow pointing to the door).

What should I expect during worship?
Each week we, like the early church, share in the Lord’s Supper, a time of remembering Christ’s death and celebrating His resurrection. The Bible tells us we are to examine ourselves (1 Cor 11:28) when we share this memorial feast. Believers are welcome to join us as we focus on the sacrifice Jesus made for us and the community He commissioned as His church. There is also a weekly offering. Your gift to us is your presence, contribution is for our members. Our singing will be without instruments, our message will be from the Bible, and our focus will be directed towards God.

What will my children do while I’m in worship?
After we have communion, children from preschool through second grade go to God’s Flock to hear a lesson about Jesus in a way they can understand. We also have a nursery for children under 2.

How do I learn about becoming a member at West University Church of Christ?
If you’re looking to make for yourself a permanent church home, one of our elders, deacons, or ministers would love to talk to you about placing membership with our congregation.
