Life Groups
What is a Life Group?
A Life Group is a collection of people who covenant together to form small intentional communities. The purpose of these communities is to become devoted followers of Jesus and help others become the same. We do this through forming close, honest relationships with one another; studying scripture; praying together; sharing life with one another and with God; and pursuing God’s mission in our particular neighbors.
Why Join a Life Group?
We all have a place at Christ’s table, but sometimes we struggle to find it. We hear how God invites us into his family, but we miss the intimacy and close relationships that such a word–family–implies. We know that the church is called into the world to embody love through service and to make disciples, but we don’t know whether that calling includes us. If so, we wonder, How, exactly? We read that God has given each of us gifts for building up our community, but we’re not sure what ours are or where we could be useful. And we long to find people with whom we can be open and honest about our lives–our joys, our struggles, and even our sins. But Sunday morning just doesn’t seem like the place and time for that kind of open accountability.
In our Life Groups, we strive to create small, grace-filled communities where people gather with one another, grow as Jesus’s disciples, and go serve in Jesus’s name. Our Life Groups meet throughout the week, sometimes in people’s homes, sometimes in our local coffee shops.
A Life Group isn’t something you go to. It’s a community you become a part of. Life Groups are comprised of people from all kinds of backgrounds who share a commitment to following Jesus and helping others do the same. We need each other. Contact the church office for more information.
